Transportation Operations Improvement & Strategy Manager

If you are looking for career development and an opportunity to work for a company that promotes growth, then keep reading Job Description This position has been developed to support in and design AIM’s Strategic plans within the Transportation department.

These strategies will include but not be limited to, technology enhancements, business integration, business management, and process standardization.

In addition, this position will support Ontario operations to enhance the overall operation efficiency.

Responsibilities Network optimization across Ontario and US lanes.

Work with dispatch to identify areas of weakness in the route planning process and provide valuable route optimization opportunities based on data driven analytics.

Analyze internal data and KPIs to develop action plans and project plans to complete operation improvement activities.

Track the results of the improvements implemented and identify the added benefit to the organization for the change to operating procedure, cost, customer service or safety.

Work with the Director of Transportation to identify operating constraints that have a negative impact to the transportation key objectives (efficiency, customer, safety).

Identify variances between supplier scales and AIM Scales.

Identify reasons for the discrepancies and what corrective action and best practices are required by AIM or the customer to resolve.

Confirm corrective action is taken for any identified problems and that the solutions implemented provide a positive result for transportations key objectives.

Oversee the implementation of technology enhancements developed and positioned for the transportation department.

Head the strategic implementation of yard integrations across Ontario.

Ensure network optimization is completed and manage the execution of these implementations.

Previous yard integration also requires reassessment.

Complete Strategic planning for the transportation department for business management and execution.

Billing.

KPI development.

Network assessments.

Complete Strategic planning for technology integration within the transportation department.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

Transportation Management System (TMS).

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
– Related to transportation.

Complete long-term strategic plans for the transportation department and how to measure the successfulness of the department.

Support in and the development of process standardization for the transportation department.

Qualifications University graduate with a focus in Business, Logistics or Supply Chain Management.

5 years experience in Transportation or Logistics management positions.

2 years in operational improvement, excellence, or process-oriented management positions.

Excellent people management and motivation techniques.

Self-starter that is motivated to get results through data and work independently.

The ability to work directly and indirectly with others to get results within the organization.

Previous process mapping and standard operating documentation.

Lean Six Sigma knowledge or certification (preferred).

End Dump, Scow, Roll-Off and Lugger truck experience (preferred).
