Site Supervisor
– Drilling and Remediation Calgary , Alberta Reqid: 262780BR Job Category: Sciences Business Line: Environment Business Group: Design and Consulting Services Group (DCS) Virtual: No Job Summary The Environment team in Calgary is looking for a Site Supervisor to lead remedial construction programs such as environmental drilling investigations and remediation such as excavation and soil handling.

The successful candidate will be working within a team of other technicians and junior engineers under the supervision of professional engineers and geologists.

The position will involve assisting in all aspects of environmental projects with a focus on field work including subcontractor coordination.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Groundwater Monitoring – purging and sample collection from monitoring wells Drilling – environmental drilling, ground disturbance procedures, soil description and monitoring well installation Excavation – directing subcontractors, analyzing changes in conditions, water management, shoring, communication with project management, critical thinking and problem solving, documenting adherence to standard field procedures.

Soil sampling – field screening, soil sample collection procedures Field notes – taking organized and details field notes, recording observations Safety – leading and participating in field meetings, oversight of subcontractors, contribute to and following safe work practices, developing/following/implementing safety plans and a day to day basis, recognizing hazards, confidence in exercising stop work authority.

Diploma in Environmental Technology/Geological Technology or similar 4 years experience in drilling or remediation Driver’s license Preferred Qualifications Strong team work, able to listen to requirements and work well with others Excellent attention to detail and a thorough approach to work Critical thinking and problem solving Possess good writing skills in English Ability to learn new tasks Flexible and hard working Willing to travel within the province/country for work Additional Information: Sponsorship is not available for this position.
