SR DIRECTOR, COMMERCIAL Candidate will work out of our Mississauga, Ontario location Emergent BioSolutions is currently seeking a Sr Director, Commercial to work out of our Mississauga Ontario location.

The select candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field and twelve (12) or more years of related pharmaceuticals experience or an advanced degree (MBA, CPA, etc) and ten (10) or more years of related experience.

In addition, this individual will possess strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence and innovation.

THE OPPORTUNITY Serving as the Commercial Business leader and reporting to the Vice President and General Manager, Canada, your primary role will be leading all commercial efforts for NARCAN® in Canada while developing and implementing plans to expand access provincial reimbursement.

You will work from our client’s headquarters in Mississauga and enjoy an attractive, comprehensive compensation package.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Proactively leading by example and fusing commercial awareness with a strategic mindset to think outside the norm, address challenges, anticipate the future needs of the business, plan many moves ahead, determine how to accomplish what needs to be done, and see it through in a fast-paced environment; Using your natural ability to spot growth opportunities for NARCAN® and overseeing/coordinating efforts to realize them; Applying your superior sales and strategic marketing skills and your strong command of classic and innovative marketing disciplines and techniques to lead and develop the Sales and Marketing team and guide the planning/development/implementation of business plans and commercial strategies within assigned budgets to realize company objectives and business growth; Collaborating, motivating, energizing and quickly establishing trust and credibility with direct/indirect reports, peers, corporate leaders, strategic partners and other stakeholders; Consulting and coordinating with government affairs consultants to positively influence business and build advocacy; Establishing goals and KPIs and monitoring, measuring and evaluating and reporting progress.

Identify gaps in commercial strategy implementation and course correct as needed; Establishing financial goals and budgets and managing/tracking expenditures.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field and twelve or more years of related pharmaceuticals industry experience, OR: an advanced degree (MBA, CPA, etc.) and ten or more years of related pharmaceutical industry experience.

Related experience to include performing government pricing and/or government price reporting functions working with one or more of the following: Medicaid and other public sector programs; accounting and financial analysis; controls and compliance.

University degree; 15+ years of professional experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Commercial leader (applying Sales and Marketing expertise) or in another relevant role applying your proven leadership ability in a novel business environment; Excellent written, verbal, presentation and listening skills in English (bilingualism in English and French is an asset); Experience developing and leading the successful execution of business plans; Experience managing financial and budgeting processes; Outstanding skills in persuasion, influencing, presentation, time management, reporting and project leadership; Demonstrated ability to address challenges strategically, think outside the box, innovate, apply best practices, take measured risks, and develop/articulate strong, value-based strategy; Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally in a team-based company, building alignment and consensus on key priorities, and exercising influence at all levels of a matrix organization; Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; Willingness and ability to travel overnight (30%); Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience and in-depth knowledge of public healthcare in Canada are assets.

Strong analytical, communication, and demonstrated track record of business partnering skills are essential.
