He / She will maintain and continually plan reliability and operations within a fixed budget and provide a safe operating environment by performing duties personally or through subordinates.

This position will work closely with the Production and Technical managers to ensure effective leadership and support for all aspects of the manufacturing requirements on site.REPORTING STRUCTUREThis position reports directly into the Plant Manager with 5 team members reporting into the Maintenance ManagerA result oriented, self-learner with a drive for continuous improvement is a must.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOversee and prioritizes plant priorities pertaining to breakdowns, project and PM’s and allocate to employeesEstablish TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) program in conjunction with operations and maintenance staff including the documentation and scheduling of all maintenance activities on cloud based softwarePlan, develop and implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs and effect greater utilization of labor and materialsOversee repairs, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment to ensure continuous production operations in conjunction with Technology and Automation ManagerMaintain & improve the 5S program within maintenance department areasParticipate in planned inspections and pre-start up audits.

Assist in developing, maintaining and updating work instructionsPurchase maintenance items, parts and supplies and manage spare parts areaChampion maintenance expenditure at the plantImplement and enforce location safe work rules and proceduresMaintain contractor management log including regulatory requirements that has good standing with WSIB and having adequate liability insuranceEffectively plan and manage shutdown maintenanceEnsure that new personnel are provided on the job systems training for the role which they are hired forDefine and maintain roles and responsibilities for all roles within the Maintenance departmentActively participate in meetings with Maintenance and Operations to review downtime and plan all related maintenance activitiesManage and support a continuous improvement process within the Maintenance department and in collaboration with other departmentsActively promote the collection of knowledge on equipment health, performance and best practices within the Maintenance department and with other internal and external stakeholdersLEADERSHIP AND HIGH-PERFORMANCE TEAM COMPETENCYE⁴ Leadership Characteristics: Energy Enormous personal energy Strong Bias for ActionEnergizeAbility to Motivate/Energize others with infectious enthusiasmEdge Competitive Spirit, Instinctive drive for speed/Impact with Strong Conviction and CourageExecutionDriven to deliver results, create value and build a sustainable business High Performance Team / Behavioral Competencies:

· Focus on Value Creation PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 years in Maintenance leadership role applying proven Maintenance best practices in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (24/7 operation) Technical diploma or degree in an Engineering related field is preferred.

Working knowledge and experience within the Plastic Manufacturing industry specifically blow moldingPrior experience with cloud based maintenance softwareStrong knowledge of engineering conceptsAbility to interpret blueprints, specifications and schematics, facility drawings and troubleshoot effectivelyStrong analytical and communication skillsble to work hands on and multi-task effectively
