The manufacturing manager is responsible for managing workflow between Yellow Pages and external printers/suppliers.

You will ensure the quality and timely production of products, such as, directories and direct mail campaigns.

You will also be involved in day-to-day art productions to improve productivity, recommend alternate solutions in areas, such as: printing, binding & marketing.

The manager will also work closely with Marketing teams to optimize existing and launch new products and capabilities.

Participate in overall research and development, and assist in coordinating with the day-to-day art production teams.

You will define business rules and successfully aligns technical requirements with business objectives.

Main responsibilities: Manage all facets related to the print (directories, direct mail) between YP and the outsourced printing-press suppliers.

Ensure timely and accurate transfer of information with the suppliers; confirm every step in the process has been addressed so that the vendors have the deliverables they require to get the job done.

Provide subject matter expertise in printing processes, copy preparation, paper selection, binding and finishing, understanding and evaluating colour.

Provide necessary support to design teams, technical teams and/or other staff in the day-to-day activities; resolving workflow disruptions with the printer.

Develop key performance standards and quality monitoring of our products.

Assist the Marketing team to develop and implement new products along with marketing strategies.

Develop product definitions and provide documentation expertise and training to other departments involved in product development.

Coordinate and work closely with cross-functional team members like sales, customer care, operations to meet business objectives.

Develop and identify potential areas for operations process improvement; efficiencies in the printing fulfillment process.

Keeps abreast of current trends, practices related to: new presses, inks, paper stock, environmental issues.

Lead life cycle management for existing products; identify and recommend product improvements.

Determine key deliverables, introduction schedules and processes that need to be put in place.

Monitor product performance along with market trends, user feedback, customer needs, competitive information and market research.

For a given product line, determine the right feature set for buyers and sellers and fit with market needs.

Analyze market conditions to identify new business opportunities and strategies.

Support and manage any sales/marketing initiatives both administratively & fiscally.

Qualifications:
• BA degree in Business Administration or Marketing or equivalent business experience in commercial printing operations
• 3 to 5 years of product/project management experience
• A proven track record of developing and implementing initiatives and marketing plans to optimize and launch new products
• Experience working with suppliers / vendors
• Experience managing unionized staff is an asset
• Extensive analytical experience to deliver meaningful insights that drive business results
• Sound understanding of marketing research concept as well as financial tools to initiate business cases.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite Skills:
