HDR: Senior Transit Project Manager


This is a Contract position in Montreal, QC posted May 30, 2021.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing a large portfolio of multi-disciplinary projects in all phases of project delivery of transit Projects, in particular, transit operations, transit infrastructure and maintenance facilities.

Key responsibilities includeProviding oversight and being responsible for an entire Program and for the work of multiple Project Managers and teams.Directing the Consultant Team which will include Project Managers, Discipline Leads and all staff included to manage and deliver a Program as required to the satisfaction of the client.Being responsible for the successful delivery of a Program, coordination of a Programs projects and management of their inter-dependencies, including oversight of risks and issues.Applying thorough and consistent methodology/approach to project deliverables and quality of submissions.Building a strong working relationship with the client and ensuring project team continues to deliver high quality of work.Verifying that submissions are prepared in accordance with professional practice guidelines and client design standards.Ensuring all project deliverables are complete and compliant with the client’s quality requirements and checklists.Managing day to day activities of the project team and the Subconsultants assigned to the Program.Representing the Consultant team at meetings, presentations and addresses issues raised by the client.Overseeing and assisting the client with their permit applications, property requirements and other approvals.Responding to the client in a timely manner in all matters relating to a Program.Monitoring staffing needs and gaps in expertise required for advancement of a Program.Mentoring project managers and junior staff in a Program.Reporting on Program and projects’ performance to Company’s senior management.Managing project risks and mitigating those risks in a timely fashion to minimize impact to Program performance.Incorporating lessons learned into a Program.LI-MR1QualificationsDemonstrates 12-15 years of direct working experience in management of multi discipline design and construction for transit operations, infrastructure and or maintenance facilities and is responsible for overseeing all phases of the Program lifecycle.Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Licensed Professional Engineer or Architect in the Province of Ontario.Technical experience in transit engineering based disciplinesExtensive experience in cost control, scheduling and risk management is a mustExperience in a Transit Engineering and facilities based assignmentsExperience with MS Office SuiteExperience using MS Project Scheduling and PrimaveraTenacity to be able to drive a Program with minimal supervisionA valid driver’s license and personal vehicle is required
