POSITION OVERVIEW The Director, Revenue Growth and Expansion will develop and lead the consulting practice responsible for Revenue Growth and Expansion solutions, implement a portfolio vision and strategy, and accept responsibility for and resolve any issues associated with the practice’s primary activities.

The incumbent will build the service offer, oversee mandate execution and manage human resources.

He or she will also be in charge of maintaining a network of qualified external partners (consultants) across Canada.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET Spearhead the establishment and ongoing improvement of advisory services that will enable BDC to position itself as a leader in helping SMEs adopt and incorporate best practices in sales, marketing and global expansion to overcome their challenges and stay competitive.

Coordinate and lead the introduction of innovative tools, processes, frameworks and models for generating ideas applicable to the Revenue Growth and Expansion solutions team (internal advisors / external partners).

Network as a means of spotting and recruiting talented and senior experts for the organization, evaluate hiring recommendations and make final decisions regarding hiring.

Identify the need for training on new or improved solutions and, with internal stakeholders, plan for the training’s development and delivery.

Identify new financing and advisory business opportunities with respect to carrying out mandates using internal referral tools.

Lead team members, offer guidance and help them acquire relevant skills in various areas of subject matter expertise.

Manage the employing of external delivery consultants and its effect on profits.

Establish lasting partnerships with cutting-edge digital marketing technology companies in order to find and recommend the technology solutions best suited to SMEs (e.g.

SEM Rush, Hotjar, Google Analytics, etc.).

Manage the timeline for all practice mandates and maximize client impact / satisfaction that are measured against yearly KPI’s.

Manage practice budgetand find means to render overall business operations more profitable and impactful.

Ensure the risk inherent to a given mandate remains within reasonable limits, and perform regular quality and risk assessments.

Assist in delivering Revenue Growth and Expansion expertise to SMEs.

Represent BDC Advisory practice during internal and external events (virtual or in person) as the subject matter expert for Revenue Growth and Expansion centre of excellence across Canada.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Undergraduate degree in a related field, such as business administration, with a focus on marketing, international business or entrepreneurship 2 years of experience in the field of management consulting and at least 10 years of experience in a sales, marketing or export role Experience managing a results-oriented team of subject matter experts in a high-speed delivery environment Business acumen, curiosity and interest in entrepreneurship and SME activities Good understanding of sales and marketing, market research analysis, digital marketing and global business agreements Proven leadership ability, able to rally stakeholders around a single vision and inspire others to grow Strong ability to work as a team towards a common goal and to collaborate with consulting teams and client groups at all levels Excellent communication, project management and supervisory skills Bilingual (English and French) Join BDC and help make a difference With us, you’ll be able to achieve the work/life balance you’re looking for, with competitive working conditions and flexible benefits.
