IT ManagerBrampton, ONThe Company:Our client is a privately owned food & agriculture industry leader.

They operate in a multi-channel customer environment in the food sector, including food manufacturing.

Currently they’re seeking an accomplished IT manager to lead a new ERP Implementation and modernize their Risk and Security systems from an Information Systems and Technology standpoint.The Opportunity:The Information Technology Manager is responsible for the effective operation of information technology (IT) services and support across the organization.

Oversee and lead IT project management, resource management, supervision of IT staff, as well as communication with the executive team, business unit leaders, and end users.

Lead all IT strategic and tactical planning; identify select and deploy the appropriate technology resources that will support corporate goals and objectives.Job Duties & Responsibilities:Plan, develop, and manage all IT services, programs, and support throughout the enterprise.IT infrastructure support including server security, software updates, hardware maintenance, etc.Oversee the implementation, deployment and operation of information systems and technology solutions for business needs including the integration of a new ERP systemDevelop and enforce IT and end user policies including security protocols for on-site and remote access, data back-ups, penetration testing and managed detection and response.Support and optimize the functionality, licensing and use of externally utilized software and applicationsAssist senior management with the direction and facilitation of IT strategic and tactical planning.Research, design, and implement the appropriate technologies to support and improve corporate communications, access to information, and end-user productivity.Project management lead for IT projects, including business requirements, provision of functional deliverables, milestone planning, and project post mortems.

Ensure that applicable project management practices are followed throughout project lifecycles.Hire, staff, and supervise a skilled team of IT professionals; help guide the professional development of IT personnel.Develop and manage the IT budget for the organization including technology, IT and end user services, licenses and personnel.

Create and deliver business cases for technology acquisitions.Liaise with vendors and service providers to ensure secure, efficient and cost-effective acquisition of technology purchases, and oversee warranties, licensing and service agreements.Conduct capacity planning for network bandwidth, storage requirements, messaging, Web sites, and other applications.

Support website functionality and development.Stay informed on new or emerging trends and technologies that provide clear benefits to the organization, business partners, and/or customers.Create status reports as required; present findings to senior management.Assist in the writing of grants, RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.Plan end-user training as required.Act as advocate for IT department and its initiatives.Perform other related duties as assigned.Ideal Qualifications & Competencies:Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in computer science, or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience required.Industry experience in Consumer Goods manufacturing preferred (Food / Beverages ideal)Prior experience in leading an ERP conversion and experience with Microsoft NAV / Business Central strongly preferredHigh degree of experience and proficiency with network and access security, VPN networks, firewalls, encryption, and other aspects of network security technologies.5 years of direct work experience in an IT management capacity required.Advanced overall knowledge of networking, operating system, and server architectures, including Visual manufacturing.Social media experience and expertise.Strong knowledge of programming concepts, software development cycles, and associated tools and platformsHighly effective project management skills.

PMP an asset.Sound leadership, staff management, and teambuilding skills.Ability to explain technical concepts and theories to non-technical audiences.High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.Strong negotiation and prioritization skills.Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.Experience managing budgets for an IT department.Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
