Community Living Greater Sudbury (CLGS) is currently looking for a Supervisor Residential to joinour teamCLGS is committed to the goal of assisting people who have an intellectual disability to experience their full potential.

To accomplish this goal, CLGS is responsible for the delivery of four programs:Residential Program, Day Program, Host Family Program, and Respite Service.SUPERVISOR RESIDENTIALCommunity Living Greater Sudbury is seeking a highly skilled, knowledgeable, and experienced individual to manage the day-to-day operations of one of our Group Home Living Programs.This position is focused on providing effective leadership, mentorship and skill development that supports person-centered and person-directed services which promote the values of Community Living Greater Sudbury under the direction of the Director of Community Services.The Residential Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of Direct Support Professionals.

The Residential Supervisor maintains consistent communication with people supported, family members and friends of people supported, direct support professionals, colleagues, the senior leadership team, and members of external resource teams.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESEnsure the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and objectives of the agency are communicated and evident in all supports provided within the adult support servicesProvide direct supervision to staff on a day-to-day basis in group home and to other group home employees on-callApply sound judgment, take initiative, have motivation, be adaptable and flexible, and be strong team playersManages the day-to-day operations of a residential group home programEnsures supports to individuals are aligned with person directed plans, respectful of their dignity, rights and well-being and promote safe and healthy environments; adapts to the changing and increasingly complex needs of the individuals served by the organization, ensures staff and supports are aligned to meet the changing needsResolves moderately complex program concerns or issues, decision making typically related to the department or functional area, and develop potential solutionsPerforms on call duty and delegates as required; is available for the purpose of consultation and response in the event of an emergencyIdentifies and evaluates financial needs for input into budgets for their group home; monitors, tracks, and reconciles program expenditures to ensure effective use of all resources and fiscal accountability; authorizes petty cash and takes action to resolve problems or deficienciesCompletes payroll for staff under their supervision; works closely with finance and human resources to address and correct any concerns.To participating and implementing Residential Services Strategic Planning to optimize organizational performanceProvide leadership and support in the design and delivery of individual services; evaluate and manage optimal quality of life and quality of care for people we serveActively participate as a member of the supervisor management team QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSUniversity degree or Community College Diploma in Social Services or Human Services or a related discipline.Knowledgeable of Quality Assurance Measures and Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services and other legislation requirements.Knowledge of the Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental DisabilitiesMinimum of four years related experience in a supervisory/management capacity, including experience coordinating, scheduling and supporting organizational activities and projects, knowledge of administering a Collective Bargaining Agreement.Knowledge of employee/labour relations practices and legislationDemonstrated facilitation and advocacy skillsExcellent crisis management, conflict resolution and problem-solving skillsStrong organizational and interpersonal skillsProficiency with Microsoft Software Applications, specifically Word and Excel.Valid First Aid, CPR CertificationSuccessful completion of a Vulnerable Police Check and MTO Driver’s AbstractThis is a great leadership opportunity to make a difference in delivering quality developmental residential services within an engaging, team focused culture.
