This is a Full-time position in Montreal, QC posted May 14, 2019.

The Associate Director of Development (Major Gifts and Special Events) will conduct a wide variety of duties related to fundraising and donor relations for the Old Brewery Mission.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Development, the Associate Director will play a key role in supporting the organization’s major gift program and will manage the smooth coordination and delivery of specific fundraising programs and events.

This will include supervising staff specific to their activity areas and coordinating effectively with other members of the team, as well as other departments.

The ideal candidate for this position is an organised, detail-oriented individual who is comfortable planning and organising events and is confident presenting to, and interacting with, prospects and donors in both official languages.

The position will be linked primarily to the cultivation and growth of the major gift program, the coordination and delivery of the organisation’s annual golf tournament, special events, peer-to-peer fundraising, and the facilitation of volunteer committees (development committee, young philanthropists etc).ResponsibilitiesLead the planning and management of all fundraising activities under their supervision;Coordinate, organise, participate in, and follow-up with working and volunteer committees under his/her supervision (Fund Development Cmte., Young Philanthropists Circle, Golf..etc);Oversee the effective implementation and promotion of third party and peer-to-peer fundraising activities;Actively research, solicit and schedule appointments with major donors;Have primary responsibility for the development and execution of all grant proposals;Develop and implement donor stewardship, renewal and recognition activities;Manage timeline for solicitation, communication and reports for donors;Optimize events, methods and tools already in place;Prepare budgets and applicable reports for the department;Ensure limited budgets and resources are respected;Manage relationships with suppliers.COMPETENCIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS SOUGHT Strong organizational, project management and planning skills with great attention to detail;Proven ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously with strict deadlines;High familiarity with common social media networks;Dynamic and passionate communicator;Strong communication skills in French and English, oral and written;Excellent interpersonal skills;Tact and discretion; respect for confidentiality;Flexibility to work outside of regular work hours;Ability to multitask, set priorities, and establish time-lines.Experience5 years of fundraising experience;Knowledge of donor relations principles;High proficiency in MS Office Suite;Familiarity with relational databases-Good knowledge of Raiser’s Edge considered an asset.EducationUniversity undergraduate/post-secondary degree required, preferably in Administration, Marketing, Sales or CommunicationsJOB SPECIFICATIONPermanent position Full-time (40 hours weekly)Location: Old Montreal, Quebec (Place d’Armes metro station)
