This is a Full-time position in Montréal, QC posted January 3, 2018.

The purchaser is responsible for managing all aspects inherent to our relations with suppliers, including:

– Following up on supplier performance and managing all communications with our suppliers including pricing negotiations, quantities required, promotional calendars, new product arrivals and logistics

– Participating in transition meetings with new suppliers

– Merchandising responsibilities including evaluating new suppliers and products – as well as ingredients and origins to ensure they are aligned with the Lufa Farms mission and standards. Negotiating prices and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience

– Managing promotions with suppliers and coordinating with marketing to ensure product and supplier descriptions and photos are accurate and up to date

– Assessing the current product lineup and planning strategically to meet customer expectations and company objectives

We are looking for specialists in these categories:

– Quebec fresh produce

– Frozen and outside Quebec fresh produce

– Meat and fish

– Cheese, dairy and eggs

– Bakery, sweets and holiday

– Drinks

– Non-food products

– Snacks

– Pasta, sauces & prepared meals

– Pantry

Schedule:

– Full-time, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, 45 hours/week

Required:

– Strength and experience in accounts management and business relations

– Strength and experience in negotiation

– Strong communication skills in both French and English (oral and written)

– Punctuality and strong organisational skills

– Ability to work fast, with precision, and without mistakes in an ever changing environment

– Devotion to quality and work well done

– Strong work ethics, adaptability, great care for detail, respect for both products and deadlines

– Good knowledge of computers and good comfort level using various software and apps (especially spreadsheet creation software)

– Enthusiastic and determined team player, also capable of working independently

– Rigorous attention to detail, commitment, organisation and effectiveness

Assets:

– University diploma

– Project management skills

– Experience in “B2B” sales

– Experience with logistics coordination
