Sr. Risk Analyst

This is a Contract position in Montreal, QC posted October 14, 2021.

Position Purpose: As Risk Analyst, Enterprise Market Risk (EMR), you provide independent and effective monitoring and reporting of Market Risk (MR) risk-weighted assets (RWA), which includes performing analysis on MR RWA trends, ad hoc analysis on specific businesses, and communicating results to senior management.

Key Accountabilities:
– Provide timely, accurate and complete market risk regulatory and economic capital reporting and analysis, owning the end to end processes that facilitate this reporting stream
– Understand, analyze and communicate the drivers, trends and dependencies of the market risk regulatory and economic capital charges for (and key sub-portfolios) and provide context therein with respect to changes in the market risk profile of the business
– Maintain a good understanding of the methodologies used for Value at Risk (VaR), Stress VaR, Specific Risk, Incremental Risk Charge, as well as the Standardized Approach calculations
– Manage the initiatives around the build-out of the team’s frequency and scope of regulatory capital reporting, including the FTRB transition.

– Provide a consistent and unified framework for reporting and analyzing trading book market risk regulatory capital across the bank
– Participate in other ad hoc analysis around market risk exposures
– Complete Self-Assessment Programs for the assessment of our Regulatory Capital measurement implementation Knowledge and Experience:
– Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related discipline (Required)
– 3 -5 years Capital markets experience and/or in-depth capital markets risk knowledge
– Understanding of financial markets and trading businesses, both exchanges traded and over the counter markets.

– Knowledge of traded products including derivatives and their associated risks.

– Understanding of the bank and broker-dealer regulatory environment.

– Expert qualitative and quantitative analysis skills (Required)
– Strong verbal and written communication skills to deliver well-structured business documentation and deliver client presentations (Required)
– Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate cross-functionally and cross culturally (Required)
– Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines (Required)
– Demonstrated ability to work independently and in team environment in a collaborative manner (Required)
– Negotiation, consensus building, and conflict resolution experience and skills, including timely issue escalation as appropriate (Required)
– Expert user proficiency with computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint (Required)
– SQL proficiency (Required)
– High level of English proficiency, both verbal and written (Required) Attributes:
