PRINCIPAL DUTIES
• Manage the implementation of the Quality Management System in projects
• Analyze customer requirements (specifications) for quality control & insurance
• Design and develop project specific quality strategy and plan
• Participate in the design and the follow-up to the inspection and testing plans (ITP)
• Collaborate with the purchasing team to select, evaluate and qualify suppliers
• Coordinate both internal and customer validations of technical documents (e.g.
EIP, welding procedures, NDT, etc.
)
• Coordinate customer inspections, reporting points and shutdowns
• Manage project quality records
• Coordinate non-compliance reports and monitor the implementation of the necessary corrective or preventive actions
• Conduct in-depth analyses on critical non-conformity (8D
– Root Cause Analysis)
• Actively collaborate in customer meetings, kick-offs, follow-ups, and closings
• Participate in design reviews
• Participate in pre-production reviews of critical parts with suppliers
• Perform internal audits (Quality/Continuous Improvement) and assist in customer audits
• Support the development of quality control and quality assurance tools and processes EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent education;
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in Quality Assurance;
• Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, CWB, ASME or other standards
– an asset
• Knowledge of standard inspection tools (Vernier, micrometer, etc.)
• Knowledge of automated measurement methods (FARO/laser tracker/CMM, etc.) is an asset
• Good knowledge of mechanical drawing reading
• Good knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
• Effective communication skills (focused on internal and external clients)
• Data analysis skills with a focus on continuous improvement
• Fully mobile and available to travel within Canada and abroad.
• Bilingual
– English and French
• Excellent work ethic;
• Training or knowledge in Health and Safety and general hydro site work is an asset.
Legal status to work in Canada is required.
