Mainland is hiring We are looking for an experienced Pipelayer to join our team.

The Mainland Group of Companies, is a multidisciplinary construction service provider specializing in all civil works and excavation such as site services, residential subdivisions, roads, highways, bridges, excavation, shoring, commercial site development and large industrial infrastructure projects.

www.Mainlandgroup.Ca The : The Pipelayer will be responsible for the efficient installation of a variety of pipes and fittings related to civil construction works including water, sanitary sewer, hydro and storm water collection systems.

& what you’ll be doing Work safely in a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in safety meetings.Work with the Foreman and other team members to ensure pipe is aligned, positioned, and installed in accordance with project specificationsSupport the safe assembly and use of trench shoring systemsEnsure back fill and compaction around pipe to ensure proper positioning and supportWork as a team with other crew members on daily activities of the siteWork safely around utilities and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in daily safety meetings , Experience & Skill Set 2 years’ experience in civil utilities including storm, sanitary sewer, water, and hydroExperience using pipe and rotary lasersAbility to read drawings, specifications and understand bothWorking knowledge of pipe grading, survey, and evaluationsMust possess valid Class 5 Drivers License and be able to travel to sites across region.Maintain quality results of work to be done.Maintain equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues.Good communications ability, able to work with variety of individualsWork as a team with other crew members on daily activities of the site.First aid, confined space, and fall protection training is an asset.Understanding of Safety and ability to communicate Safety issues as they ariseMust be physically fit, able to spend most or all shift standing, walking, lifting and carrying, working hands-on in an outdoor environment in all types of weather.Flexibility with hours worked, including overtime and weekend work as needed.Willingness to learn and possibly work across both our divisions (deep excavation and civil site services)Must be local to the Lower Mainland What we offer: Union wages and benefitsTraining and developmental opportunitiesStrong emphasis on safety At Mainland, we believe that our people are our greatest asset.
