Machine shop foreman

This is a Full-time position in Montreal, QC posted November 8, 2019.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED HANDS ON MACHINE SHOP FOREMAN Meticulous, autonomous; efficient, precise, organized and motivated with a drive to get things done.

Someone who is knowledgeable in lathe, milling, grinding, welding and mechanical assembly work.

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with the ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment and meet deadlines safely and efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS: 1.

Knowledge of and experience with tools and techniques for planning, organizing, estimating, monitoring and controlling projects, as well as with maintaining a central repository of project competencies, plans, reports and histories.

2.

Five (5) or more years’ Machine shop management related experience with mechanical drawing interpretation.

3.

Post-secondary education in a related area of study.

Project Management certification an asset.

4.

Experience in a machine shop environment with welding, turning, milling, painting and assembly of industrial machinery with capability of estimating manufacturing time of parts.

5.

A clear leadership personality.

You can lead by example and instill a good work ethic in your men.

6.

This position is for a hands-on shop environment among the machinists and assemblers.

DUTIES: 1.

Completing administrative tasks related to project activities such as reviewing mechanical drawings list, reporting issues back to engineering.

2.

Distributing the work drawings to each manned station for lathe, milling, welding, painting assembly and keeping track of the progress and the parts.

3.

Meeting with management to communicate progress and estimate manufacturing timelines.

4.

Supporting project team members by scheduling and planning meetings, documenting minutes and distributing project material.

5.

Creating, maintaining and updating all project related documentation following project methodology.

6.

Communicate and travel to sub contractors to monitor progress and quality of product and take corrective actions if needed to meet the milestones.
