Liaison Officer – Citizen platform

The Québec Port Authority (QPA), an autonomous organization with shared governance, pursues its mission to develop maritime trade and thus contribute to the economic development of the Québec City region and of Canada as a whole.

The QPA derives its revenues from its port, commercial and real estate activities such as the transshipment of dry and liquid bulk, international cruises, and the activities of Espaces Dalhousie, to name but a few.

JOB DESCRIPTION Reporting to the Citizen Responsibility Department, the Liaison Officer conducts research and analysis to identify and respond to concerns and issues raised by the community.

He ensures a link with the QPA’s departments, notably those of the environment, communications and operations.

He informs citizens on the orientations taken by the organization.

He assumes the following main responsibilities: Ensures the outreach of QPA projects through the citizen participation platform; Prepares responses and ensures feedback of comments from the citizen platform; Ensures the respect of the deadlines and the realization of all the steps of the reporting process; Conducting research and analysis, in collaboration with Port’s teams, to respond to issues raised by citizens; Follow up on public consultation projects and discussion workshops by writing reports and minutes; Participates in the QPA’s strategic reflections on community relations; Participates in the drafting of the newsletter aimed at promoting the QPA’s actions; Collaborates with the APQ communications team in the development of communication strategies.

General Provides support to other team members for various mandates; Contributes, through his attitude, to creating a work climate favourable to teamwork.

CANDIDATE PROFILE Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (communications, public relations, environment, etc.); At least the (3) years of experience in a comparable position; Excellent command of spoken and written French; Excellent writing skills; Strong ability to work in a team; Ability to analyze and synthesize; Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage several projects simultaneously; Thoroughness and attention to details; Sense of initiative and proactivity; Knowledge of the Bang the Table platform (an asset); Knowledge of the Adobe suite (an asset).
