Legal Counsel (Privacy, Compliance, Regulatory, Marketing) The legal department is looking for an experienced, bilingual privacy, compliance and regulatory lawyer to provide strategic advice to our company as we grow in North America.

The successful candidate will assess compliance obligations across various jurisdictions, with a focus on privacy and product regulation, and assist the company in developing and implementing compliance and regulatory strategies.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the tight-knit legal team and work closely with the Director of Legal Services, internal stakeholders, and the management team.

The ideal candidate will bring a practical approach to assessing company risk and compliance and a keen desire to work in an exciting, ever-changing, and emerging industry.

This position can be performed remotely so location is flexible across Canada and the US.

BY JOINING OUR TEAM, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR: Reviewing legal, privacy, product and marketing compliance requirements across various jurisdictions in North America.

Working with internal stakeholders to develop and implement compliance and regulatory strategies.

Tracking and reporting on key compliance deadlines and compliance status.

Reviewing emerging legislation or requirements relevant to our company or industry in English and French.

Acting as a resource to internal stakeholders on compliance matters.

Assisting with regulatory proceedings.

Assisting with disputes and litigation matters.

Assisting with corporate commercial matters (e.g.

reviews of sales, procurement, vendor contracts).

Instructing external legal counsel.

Carrying out any other relevant tasks.

ABOUT YOU Common or Civil law degree.

5 to 8 years of privacy, compliance and/or regulatory experience in French and English.

Strong legal analysis and writing skills.

Ability to learn new areas of law.

Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite.

Fluently bilingual (English and French).

Great written and oral communication skills, with strong attention to detail.

Team oriented and flexible.

Business-oriented/practical with ability to scale as an organization grows internally.

Disciplined, organized and independent.

ASSETS Corporate commercial experience.

Experience with start-up companies and/or new technologies.
