Equipment Specialist

Charles River Laboratories

This is a Contract position in Laval, QC posted May 1, 2022.

We are seeking for an Equipment Specialist, for our Equipment and Systems Validation team located at our Laval site.

The equipment specialist is experiences in dealing with the support of the equipment used and is a resource to the technical group. The equipment specialist performs basic and specialized maintenance procedures with little or no supervision and participates in the training of staff for the operation of equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Competent in the verification, calibration, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Handles requests for equipment or supplies for studies with minimal supervision
  • Maintain equipments inventory and calibration list up to date.
  • Participates in instrument software validations in a supporting rôle for technical expertise or workflow improvement.
  • Assists in the training of technical staff.
  • Ensures that system maintenance, repair, archival of equioment data are performed in compliance with SOP’s, saety procedures and biosafety protocols, and GLP regulations.

  • Secondary education
  • Experience: 3 years of relevant experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience can be considered an acceptable substitute for education and specific experience as listed above.
  • Reading English is required, bilingualism is preferred.
  • Be autonomous and able to make the right decisions.
  • The employee must regularly move objects weighing up to ~ 20kg.
  • Available for occasional overtime during the week or weekends.
