CORE ACCOUNTABILITY

The Advisor’s main responsibility is to help increase the service offering of advanced analytics supporting front office and enterprise decisions. Increasing the service offering requires implementing new processes and measures related to the performance of our different portfolios, strategies, and the overall fund.

The Advisor communicates and facilitates the understanding of analysis work regarding all measures related to the performance for our portfolio managers and the executive management team. He (she) ensures the availability and quality of the data sent to the various stakeholders.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the production of analyses so that quality levels and time frames are met, and maintain the processes that support the service offering for different portfolios, strategies, and the overall fund.
  • Work closely with management teams to facilitate the understanding of the measures available through our self-service tools.
  • Contribute actively to implementing new measures, analysis, and reports that will breakdown the performance of the various asset classes, strategic decisions, exposures and allocations.
  • Coordinate (plans the development, draws up testing plans, etc.) development activities for the computer resources available to us for carrying out projects aimed at increasing the service offering for various investment strategies, asset classes and the overall fund.
  • Contribute to the determination, implementation, sourcing and analysis of benchmarks.
  • Play a significant role in the assessment, evaluation, and implementation of performance and reporting software solutions.
  • Act as the primary team representative when meeting with other management teams.
  • Inform management teams about the progress of different initiatives via regular meetings and communications.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or a related fieldAdditional education in a field related to technology is an asset
  • Professional designation of CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CIPM (Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement) an asset

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in performance measurement
  • Databases: Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and SQL language is an asset

Knowledge & Skills

  • Expert knowledge of Performance Measurement, Performance Attribution, and BenchmarkingIn-depth knowledge of endowment and pension fund models
  • Knowledge of Tableau software is an asset
  • Good math skills and a solid understanding of financial instruments
  • Knowledge of the StatPro (SPA) application or any other performance measurement system
  • Bilingual (English and French)
  • Autonomous and proactive
