Manufacturing Supervisor

Centre Technologique Dana Laval

This is a Contract position in Laval, QC posted November 2, 2021.


This position will support the Manufacturing Lead with all aspects of prototype and low series sub-assemblies, kitting, vehicle integration and engineering collaboration. In addition, this position will oversee 3rd party production activities.


  • Support the manufacturing lead with internal and external production planning activities (harnesses, assembly, integration, rework, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing lead on required technical support of internal and external truck and sub-assembly production (missing parts, assembly, integration, harnesses)
  • Supervise production activities and projects
  • Facilitate continuous improvement and health and safety initiatives with the production team and ensure compliance to Dana safety standards
  • Collaborate with the warehouse and materials team to ensure component availability to meet production schedules
  • Actively participate with the engineering team in the vehicle troubleshooting and commissioning process
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to other Dana sites and partners
  • Train all employees on Health & Safety, High Voltage and LOTO (lock out tag out) procedures
  • Able to support and coach EV technicians in their different tasks: including electrical harnesses, electromechanical assembly, hydraulic circuitry and other related activities
  • Any other related tasks.


Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution; manufacturing, engineering or business-related field preferred or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role – automotive or electrification a plus
  • Must have excellent computer skills and thorough knowledge of MS Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, Project is a plus                                                                          


  • Experience in automotive mechanics (electric vehicles a plus)
  • High-Voltage Systems experience
  • Experience with harness and hose routing
  • Ability to interpret electrical diagrams
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Self-motivated and ability to make decisions independently
  • Ability to document production processes and complete quality and safety audits
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment: conduits, junction box, wiring, fasteners, tools, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Bilingual (French and English)
