E-Commerce Director

Reporting to the President, Sales and Integration Division, this manager will be responsible for building our E-commerce strategy by managing sales and operational activities. In partnership with the marketing team, the incumbent will coordinate the e-commerce efforts within the Solotech web platform, and attract customers and ensure a positive customer experience. The incumbent will work in collaboration with the asset management and IT teams for the management and optimization of the platform, and will be responsible for ensuring continuous service and the continued improvement of the business model.

Key Responsibilities:

Working closely with the marketing, the information technology and the asset management teams to implement the project, the incumbent will:


  • Develop the business model and strategic plan in its entirety, in line with the e-commerce sales and operations project;
  • Build a team dedicated to the realization and launch of the project, and the operations of the web platform, sales and e-commerce operations;
  • Deploy the strategy with all stakeholders, both internal and external to the company;
  • Take full charge of the e-commerce sales and operations project launch:
    • Integrate the e-commerce site into the company’s main website for a smooth navigation;
    • Develop and monitor sales performance and e-commerce operations indicators;
    • Plan and manage the project, timelines and budget;
    • Define the web beacons to identify and market used equipment;
    • In partnership with the asset management team, plan:
      • The equipment transfer from rentals to sales;
      • The reception and verification of the equipment to be transferred;
      • The repair and certification of the equipment before the transfer;
      • The transfer of information: replacement value, age, serial number, book value, etc.;
      • Inventory management;
  • In partnership with the marketing team, determine:
    • Items to be sold online;
    • Promotional  and discount strategies;
  • Build operational policies and processes, notably:In partnership with the marketing and communications team, define and implement service and quality commitments such as customer service mechanisms (chat, customer space, telephone, after-sales);
    • The chain of operations: ordering, preparation, packaging, shipping, returns;
    • Guarantees;
    • Importing and exporting;
    • Receiving and processing of requests;
    • Servicing delays, warranties;
  • Ensure the continued improvement of the project and service.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, programming, project management, marketing, information technology or any other field relevant to the position;
  • 10 years of experience in the fields of sales and e-commerce operations;
  • Strong experience in project management matrices with IT and marketing teams;
  • Proven experience in launching and developing web platforms;
  • Have an innate sense of leadership and an entrepreneurial spirit;
  • Excellent team management skills;
  • Ability to make decisions in an analytical, practical and realistic manner, while being able to develop a strategic vision;
  • A natural ability to prioritize the customer and provide distinctive and unparalleled customer service;
  • Experience in developing a digital transactional platform;
  • Experience in programming and/or managing platform development;
  • A willingness and ability to continually improve processes, solve complex problems and achieve conclusive results, while demonstrating integrity, friendliness and helpfulness;
  • Perfect proficiency of French and English;
  • Knowledge of digital transactional platforms;
  • Knowledge of the audiovisual field (an asset);
  • Training in web design (an asset).
