REM – PrQSM Platform Screen Doors and Depot Equipment

This is a Full-time position in Montréal, QC posted July 11, 2018.

Our most recent project is the Réseau express métropolitain (REM). REM will be the fourth largest automated transportation system in the world once completed and is also the largest public transit project in Quebec since the Montreal Metro. The future integrated network will link downtown Montreal, the South and North Shores, the West Island and the airport. Alstom is looking for qualified candidates to fill positions on this exciting new chapter of urban transit in Montreal.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

 

The candidate will support the REM Senior PrQSM, especially during the coordination phase of the Factory Acceptance Tests and product inspections of the project through all the systems.

She/He will specifically manage the project quality for the Platform Screen Doors (PSD) and Depot Equipment (DEQ) projects.

She/He will coordinate all quality activities throughout the PSD&DEQ projects teams. Interact with the Global Alstom project and the ALSTOM systems involved as necessary.

She / He will report hierarchically to REM Senior PrQSM and functionally to the PSD/DEQ manager.

 

 

DETAlLED RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Customer and Management

– Be the interface with the Customer quality teams regarding PSQ and DEQ projects under delegation of the Senior REM PrQSM.

– Follow adequately the way of work with the Customer in term of quality as define by the Senior REM PrQSM.

– Participate to the establishment of the periodic Customer reports and journals for her/his specific scope.

– Be the leader of the PSD and DEQ Project network of quality managers (Supplier dedicated partners if applicable).

– If necessary build and manage the local team of inspectors for the PSD & DEQ systems receptions and installation.

 

Project execution controls

– Establish the Project Quality plan(s) for PSD and DEQ systems, and ensure its proper application.

– Support the project teams mainly the Project Manager to prepare project gate reviews (milestones) & follow up related action plans.

– Report quality and safety alerts.

– Attend change control boards and ensure the quality of the modifications made during the project.

– Ensure REX process within the project.

– Ensure that safety assessment is correctly implemented (ie : safety review) and prepare safety authorization.

– Control project deliverables compliance through inspection (FAI/FAT) and audits – to authorize presentation / delivery to customer.

– Planning, preparation, coordination, and execution of internal and external audits.

 

Improve

– Manage Non conformities and Safety issues and animate problem solving during project execution phase to reduce the costs of non-quality (8D)

– Measure and improve project quality performance

– Improve the efficiency of quality teams to reduce the function costs

 

 

SKILLS & EDUCATION

 

– Master degree in Engineering

– Working experience in contact of Products and Processes in the Transport industry – ideally Railway.

– Relevant Experience in Quality – Knowledge of the Quality tools, root cause analysis – Audit skills would be a plus.

– Experience in Team direct management recommended / leadership and communication skills.

– Ability to convince internal stakeholders to anticipate issues mitigation.

– Rigor, ability to say no and support contingency plan accordingly, agile and team player, Customer oriented.

– Committed and resilient: ability to overcome obstacles.

– Fluent in French and English
