Engineer, Systems Integration

Centre Technologique Dana Laval

This is a Contract position in Laval, QC posted November 8, 2021.

PURPOSE:

As part of the EV Systems product development team, the Systems Integration Engineer will actively participate in the design, documentation and integration of various vehicle systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop fully integrated electric vehicle systems to improve and expand Dana’s EV product portfolio with a commitment to improving vehicle safety, performance, and fuel economy.
  • Lead system integration activities and support proper execution of vehicle program development process.
  • Support the DFMEA and PPAP processes.
  • Coordinate the design of embedded systems, structural elements, mechanical parts, electromechanical parts, etc.
  • Coordinate and validate FEA analysis activities and technical drawings.
  • Develop validation plans for designed systems and supplier parts.
  • Provide technical support during the manufacturing and assembly of prototypes.
  • Communicate the progress of projects during internal and external meetings (customer interface).
  • Follow Stage Gate development processes to meet project goals, including budget, timing and quality of delivery. Document lessons learned and update OneDana procedures.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other pertinent engineering discipline required
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in system integration engineering and design of vehicles.
  • Good understanding of electromechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of modeling software (NX) and FEA.
  • Knowledge of automotive development processes.
  • Experience in the design of electric vehicles is an asset.
  • Experience in personnel and/or project management, an asset.
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ). Bilingual – Fluent in both English and French
