Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Personnel ALTER EGO inc.

This is a Full-time position in Montréal, QC posted January 12, 2018.

• Determine classifications of Goods (e.g. tariff classifications, regulations and duty rates) for import/export of goods,
• Prepare product for shipment and ship it using approved carriers.
• Obtain bids from carriers to ensure we get the best pricing.
• Negotiate freight rates with domestic and international carrier.
• Provide shipping direction/training to other departments as requested.
• Resolve transportation delays
• Completing applications for ATA Carnet paperwork with Chamber of Commerce and monitoring the Import/Export with all Customs offices.
• Leads shipping/receiving activity with assistance of shipping personnel
• Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders and other records.
• Inspects export loading operations
• Manages movement of shipments.

• Very good knowledge of the national and international shipping process (Inconterms, carrier, quotation, …)
• Follow up with the warehouse, suppliers / customers.
• Create an environment where innovation and change are encouraged
• Follow up and negotiate shipping charges for any product that is shipped
• High School Diploma + AA degree, or equivalent
• Have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience (an asset).
• Fluent in French & English orally & written.
• Mastery of the MS Office suite (more specifically Excel);
• Driver’s license
