Road freight Coordinator

This is a Full-time position in Montréal, QC posted February 9, 2018.



Reporting to the Vice President of Logistics & Business Development, the Road Freight Coordinator performs all necessary Import, Export and Domestic activities including Customs Clearance coordination for all road transport


Note: This Job Description may not encompass the entire scope of this role, as other duties maybe assigned by management.





Planning & Logistics

Plan, develop, organize, direct, manage and evaluate the operations the logistics department; Address activities in documentation, transportation, and materials handling; Set policies and standards, including determination of health and safety procedures for the handling of dangerous goods, and ensure compliance with transport regulations; Identify and manage risk within the logistics activities; Establish key performance indicators, monitor ongoing performance, and improve performance against set goals; Resolve work-related problems and prepare and submit progress and other reports; Understand customers’ needs, service those needs, and maintain and develop positive business relationships with a customer’s key personnel involved in or directly relevant to logistics activities; Direct, coordinate, assign, monitor and review the work of individuals engaged in the following duties: shipping, receiving, storing, distributing customer goods, dispatching crews, scheduling transportation crews and routes, and other related activities; Collaborate with staff, other departments, senior management, and decision makers to share information, problem solve, and to clarify management objectives; Participate in the assessment and review of design alternatives and design change proposal impacts.


 Education & Experience

College diploma or university degree in the field of transportation, logistics and/or supply chain, or equivalent; 5-7 years equivalent work experience;

Qualifications & Knowledge

  • CITT or P. Log designation would be considered an asset;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word);
  • Knowledge of the maritime industry and transportation industry.
