Logistics Coordinator

• Proactively monitor customer shipments and provide intelligent exception management;
• Address carrier specific issues from the point of booking through to final delivery;
• Carry out carrier negotiations within company guidelines policy and procedures
• Responsible for knowing the policy/ requirements for freight movement & matching appropriate carriers.
• Ensure delivery milestones and events are maintained in the system to show current status of all orders; inputting tracking and tracking updated load details daily
• Advise clients of any exceptions while freight is in transit (i.e. accidents, delayed customs clearances etc.);
• Ensure explanatory notes are entered in the system for each shipment when exceptions occur;
• Ensure shipments in motion visibility is provided by all service partners; and,
• Provide customer service and support  on a daily basis

Other duties as assigned

• Completion of post-secondary education in supply chain management preferred;
• Two to four years of related industry experience;
• Highly developed organization skills, coupled with a ‘hands-on’ commitment to customer service, team work, and getting the job done;
• Practical working knowledge of North American geography;
• Strong knowledge of transport laws/Regulations for cross border transport
• Ability to negotiate and present issues in a clear and concise manner;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal);
• Able to multi-task and set priorities and meet deadlines;
• Ability to operate efficiently in a TMS;
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills;
• Strong computer skills with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
• Operates in compliance with the Code of Business Conduct, company policies and procedures, and all statutes and legislation governing the workplace;
• Work is performed in area that is located via travel through a warehouse area, some degree of exposure to undesirable elements within warehouse environment (noise, dust)
• Some local travel required
• Tight deadlines makes this a fast-paced role – multi-tasking is crucial
