Vice President Mergers & Acquisitions

This is a Full-time position in Montréal, QC posted June 10, 2018.

General Description or Responsibilities

The successful candidate will participate in a wide range of assignments and will be responsible for:

  • Participating in Oaklins M&A and Corporate Finance’s engagements, including divestiture, acquisition, debt/equity financing and financial analysis mandates.
  • Conducting detailed financial analysis on historical and projected financial results.
  • Responsible for financial modeling in Excel.
  • Conducting market and industry research, benchmarking analysis, compiling data on companies that are similar to our clients and performing relative market value analysis.
  • Responsible for drafting of Confidential Information Memoranda and other Corporate Finance documentation.
  • Analyzing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats specific to a client and its sector in order to assess the risks inherent to the company’s cash flows.
  • Participating in discussions and meetings with clients’ top management.
  • Developing relationships with current and future clients.

Skills, Qualifications and Behaviors

The successful candidate will also possess the following:

  • Bachelor of Commerce with a major in accounting and/or finance, ideally with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Enrollment or completion of CA, CBV, MBA and/or CFA designation would be considered an asset.
  • Sound understanding of the factors driving the value of the company.
  • Solid grounding in financial modeling is essential.
  • Highly conversant with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook).
  • Proficiency with S&P Capital IQ would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent critical, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and capacity to manage priorities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills including French and English writing and speaking skills.
  • A team spirit and great interpersonal skills.
