Our client is looking for a Senior Technical Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operational infrastructure support based out of North America and Europe. Managing a team of System Administrators with a reporting line into the Tokyo IT team. Secondary responsibility will be to manage a team of System Administrators out of Montreal dedicated to online infrastructure. With a reporting line to the Online Infrastructure Manager, they will be expected to manage the day-to-day requests from the online infrastructure team.


Salary : 110 000$ +



Plan and manage tasks for engineers in order to maintain stable service quality for users connecting to North American and European data centers;

Report, exchange information, and form consensus for installing and operating the global infrastructure with the IT team in Tokyo, who are handling day-to-day communication with the online game development team;


Respond and resolve issues having impact on global service and the North American / European data centers with the IT team in Tokyo;


Manage projects and workloads supporting several game teams and internal business units in providing public facing services;


To support the team on a rotation for on-call and out of hours model;


Work well in a team-oriented environment and support the online infrastructure manager in making technical decisions based on best practices and standards currently used throughout the group;


Work closely with the online infrastructure manager and group IT director in making decisions about operational and support issues around the online service model;Experience in handling multiple projects/tasks with tight deadlines.




Dec, Degree in Computer Science or equivalent;

10+ years of working experience or relevant past record / achievements;

Hands-on experience with online service infrastructure installation and operation;

Experience with IT team management;

Experience working with agile development teams;

Strong focus on service delivery and high availability;

Support information sharing, documentation and processes;

Supplier management;

Basic knowledge of Linux server installation and operation;

Basic knowledge of network and IT security;

Ability to manage work related to running a global online service targeting North American and European market / users;

Install and manage large-scale online server infrastructure / system for online gaming, e-commerce, online transactions, etc;

Up-to-date knowledge of public/private cloud systems;

Experience with container technologies;

Practical knowledge of CD/CI solutions;

Ability to work in a team environment;

Excellent written and oral communication skills;

Able to execute tasks in a high-pressure environment;

Ability to multitask within an environment in constant movement;

Ability to adapt to change and concurring time frames;

Excellent organizational and leadership skills for guiding your team to achieve project goals;

Experience support game development life cycles or media production – an asset;

Good understanding of the video-game industry – an asset;

Operational experience within a mid- to large-scale development studio – an asset;

Previous hands on experience managing projects across multiple time zones – an asset;

Design large-scale system, which require a high level of availability – an asset;

Ability to communicate and / or read / write technical topics / matters in Japanese – an asset;

Passion and ambition for video games – essential.
