Marketing Communications Coordinator

This is a Full-time position in Montréal, QC posted June 2, 2018.

For the past 35 years, GIRO has established itself as a leader in the development of optimization software designed to improve productivity in the public transport and postal distribution industries.

Located in Montreal, GIRO has currently more than 450 full-time employees, mainly professionals in IT and operational research, serving over 300 public transportation and postal companies found in 27 countries (Montreal, New York, Los Angeles, Brussels, Barcelona, Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc.).

Team:

You are part of the Marketing team. You report to the Marketing Communications Manager.

Main responsibilities:

  • As Coordinator, you are involved in various activities of the marketing communications team. Your responsibilities consist in:
  • Conceiving and drafting communications to promote GIRO’s presence at conferences and trade shows (presentations, advertising, newsletters, Web banners, LinkedIn posts, etc.).
  • Preparing conference and trade-show planning meetings and post-event reports.
  • Contributing to the creation and updating of certain marketing tools for GIRO’s software products (product sheets, presentations, etc.).
  • Coordinating the production of visual materials with external design firms.
  • Drafting short news items on contract awards and marketing activities for the internal monthly newsletter and the intranet.
  • Occasionally supporting the preparation of materials for conferences and trade shows.

  • College or university education in communications, marketing or another discipline related to the position.
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Mastery of French and very good knowledge of English.
  • Basic knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator software.
  • Very good organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail, resourcefulness, creativity and drive.
  • Able to interact with colleagues from various departments and at different levels.
  • Knowledge of InDesign (asset).
  • In-depth knowledge of PowerPoint (asset).
  • Knowledge of the software and/or public transport industries (asset).
