Senior Linux System Administrator


Job summary


Within a multi-disciplinary team (software developers, database administrator, etc.), the Senior Linux System Administrator participates in the development and evolution of the products of the company. The Senior Linux System Administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing and monitoring the linux operating system embedded in our product offering.


Roles and responsibilities


Configure the Linux operating system for the company’s product offering (including server, workstation and embedded solutions).Assist the validation, production, deployment and support teams for all operating system related activities.Automate production, deployment and support activities through the creation of appropriate tools.Analyze, conceive, and document the configuration management of product related Linux operating systems.Assist in the development of products and tools in collaboration with the software designers.Assist in the development of the design documentation and contribute to the creation of tools/products user and administrator guides.Assist in tools/products support activities (internal and 3rd line) for development, production and test.Favor knowledge sharing with his/her colleagues.Act as reference for lower experience team members.Execute system tests.Maintain technical proficiency by constant training.

Qualifications and experience

5 to 8 years of relevant experience as a system administrator in a linux environmentExperience with virtualization technologies (LXC, LXD)Excellent linux troubleshooting skillExcellent knowledge of the linux scripting languagesExcellent knowledge of the linux filesystems (ZFS, EXT4)Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as DNS, DHCP, HaProxy, Java, Hadoop, etc.Ability to produce work instructionsAbility to produce installation and upgrade scriptsAbility to test installation and upgrade scriptsTeamwork, resourceful, rigorous, and creative and results orientedAutonomous, good organizational and time management skillsDetail orientedFrench and English written and spokenApplicants selected will be subject to a US government security investigation.
