Functional Analyst, Infrastructure

For the past 35 years, GIRO has established itself as a leader in the development of optimization software designed to improve productivity in the public transport and postal distribution industries.

Located in Montreal, GIRO has currently more than 350 full-time employees, mainly professionals in IT and operational research, serving over 300 public transportation and postal companies found in 27 countries (Montreal, New York, Los Angeles, Brussels, Barcelona, Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc.).You are part of a team that is responsible for the development of our software products. Development is carried out in a Microsoft environment and in accordance with recognized software engineering and quality assurance practices (specifications, prototyping, technical reviews, etc.)

Main responsibilities

The Functional Analyst uses their skills in analysis, design, problem-solving and communications to produce analyses that ensure the healthy progression of the IT infrastructure and the development environment. With respect to the medium- and large-scale developments for which they are responsible, the Functional Analyst suggests and influences the choice of solutions that are put in place.

  • Analyse internal clients’ requirements and propose functional, architectural and technological solutions to achieve corporate objectives
  • Plan projects, provide estimates of the required effort and set the timelines
  • Participate in integrating new technologies and/or propose improvements to existing technologies
  • Be proactive in managing project modifications, impacts, and risks, as well as technological and human changes
  • Coach, supervise and organize the work of internal technical experts
  • Advise and support internal clients on upgrades, problems, etc.

  • College diploma or university degree in computer science or any other appropriate field
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
  • Rigour and excellent analytical skills
  • Autonomy and management of priorities
  • Skills for problem-solving and analysing a range of incidents
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Windows® environment, Microsoft Office®, networks and databases, and virtualization
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics® CRM or any other incident-management tool, an asset
  • Interest in teamwork
  • Bilingual (French and English)
