Being a SAS developer on our team means working with other developers, analysts, IT solution architects, and business sectors to put solutions in place that ensure data continuity, quality, and security. You’ll bridge the gap between the various experts from the data sources involved to ensure optimal understanding and management of data. You’ll be part of a team that aims to learn continuously in order to ensure innovative management of data visualization systems.

Day to day tasks:

Our activities are split equally between implementing new technology solutions and automating and optimizing our solutions while ensuring security. You will need to collaborate closely with various risk management players and play a key role in ensuring optimal risk data management.

We therefore need dynamic and creative candidates able to work with multidisciplinary teams to efficiently design and deliver quality solutions while meeting delivery deadlines.

Your main challenges

  • Conduct various complex analyses, identify discrepancies and make recommendations to address business issues in an efficient and sustainable way, and implement them according to the highest of quality standards
  • Provide leadership to help users understand and make the best choices
  • Modify existing applications based on the needs of users, business imperatives and technology requirements
  • Be a coach within the team
  • Supervise the test phases to make sure developed or updated systems are fit for purpose
  • Analyze change requests in the systems, assess their impact on existing applications, and suggest and carry out the appropriate changes
  • Ensure the integrity of computerized data and system stability

More specifically, you will:

  • Determine the scope and objectives of the system, ensure the technical feasibility of the changes requested and understand the business field and industry requirements
  • Analyze, program, and/or optimize the SAS code
  • Analyze and review the logic and documentation of existing systems under your responsibility, as needed
  • Investigate and solve problems of different levels of system complexity
  • Monitor control mechanisms to ensure they satisfy user needs and business imperatives
  • Monitor the production processes for the Credit Risk Management application portfolio.
  • Establish communication methods with other delivery teams (reliance on other applications)

  • Three-year professional college diploma in a related field, or academic equivalent, and eight years of relevant experience
  • Experience in developing and supporting data management solutions
  • Experience with databases
  • Extensive SQL knowledge
  • Knowledge of SAS, an asset (training will be given)
  • Knowledge of the banking industry and risk management and modelling, an asset
  • Knowledge of programming regulatory statistical models, an asset
  • Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies, an asset
  • Strong work ethic and detail-oriented
  • Bilingualism, spoken and written (English and French)
