BI Solution Designer, Integration and Data Services


This is a Full-time position in Montréal, QC posted January 8, 2018.

Reporting to the Director, Integration and Data Services, the BI Solution Designer models and integrates analytical solutions for all of the organization’s departments. The incumbent contributes actively to maintaining and developing business intelligence solutions and industry best practices. He or she will work in an agile delivery context.


  • As a member of the Integration and Data Services team, contribute to maintaining and developing business intelligence solutions by using defined development cycles.
  • With a very high level of expertise in querying structured and unstructured data, develop analytical solutions using an interactive, agile approach, together with the business lines to meet their needs.
  • Model and integrate Design Pattern solutions by respecting the defined architecture and the best practices for:Extract, Transform and Load (ETL)
  • Star schema and third normal form data models
  • Data aggregation layers and statistical calculations
  • Act as an expert for designing and creating delivery teams’ reports and dashboards.
  • Ensure quality in the delivery and documentation of development activities.
  • Promote the BI centre of expertise among the business lines.
  • Disseminate the best practices relating to BI governance.
  • Collaborate and share ideas with communities of practice.
  • Work closely with the enterprise service bus support team to reinforce the administration, use and improvement of master data management.



  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field or MBA, an asset


  • Minimum of seven to ten years of relevant experience, including five in business intelligence (BI)
  • Experience in development using the agile approach
  • Experience in managing several projects at the same time and prioritizing
  • Extensive experience in relational and dimensional modelling
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft BI suite (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
  • Experience with PowerPivot and DAX language
  • Experience with R and/or Matlab language
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI and SSRS visualization tools
  • Familiar with Cloud (Cortana), Big Data, and mobile technologies
  • Experience in developing .NET (C# or VB.NET)Experience in finance, an asset
