Talent Acquisition Advisor

This is a Full-time position in Montréal, QC posted April 16, 2018.

For the past 35 years, GIRO has established itself as a leader in the development of optimization software designed to improve productivity in the public transport and postal distribution industries.

Located in Montreal, GIRO has currently more than 350 full-time employees, mainly professionals in IT and operational research, serving over 300 public transportation and postal companies found in 27 countries (Montreal, New York, Los Angeles, Brussels, Barcelona, Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc.).You are part of a team that is responsible for the development of our software products. Development is carried out in a Microsoft environment and in accordance with recognized software engineering and quality assurance practices (specifications, prototyping, technical reviews, etc.)

Main responsibilities

The Advisor uses their professionalism and their human resources management, analysis and communications skills to recruit and select the company’s personnel. They propose and implement recruitment initiatives that meet the company’s immediate and future human resources needs.

More specifically

  • You will be responsible for the content of job postings and you will utilize the most appropriate means of attracting high-quality candidates to GIRO
  • You will assure the complete process of candidate selection and you will advise managers on applying best practices for talent selection and assessment
  • You will participate in welcoming and integrating new employees
  • You will act as an ambassador for GIRO by participating in career expositions and job fairs in order to increase the company’s visibility as an employer of choice
  • You will develop and maximize the use of social media for recruitment and will keep up-to-date with best practices for attracting candidates
  • You will establish and maintain partnerships with higher-learning institutions in Québec in order to put a talent pipeline in place
  • You will maintain recruitment metrics and statistics

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or other relevant education
  • Prior experience in a similar role in a technical environment
  • Experience in sourcing and directly approaching passive candidates
  • Experience in university recruiting
  • Sense of analysis, attention to detail, initiative and good judgment
  • Sense of organization and ability to respect deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a work team
  • Bilingualism (spoken/written) in French and English
