Human Resources Coordinator (1 year)

Alter Ego Personnel Inc.

This is a Contract position in Montreal, QC posted June 15, 2022.

A law firm located in downtown Montreal and known for its concern for its employees is looking for a human resources coordinator for a one-year maternity leave replacement.

Role and responsibilities of the position: Personnel management component
· Ensure the administration of employee files in the HRIS (UltiPro);
· Liaise between the payroll department located in the Toronto office and the Montreal office for all matters relating to payroll and benefits;
· Respond to inquiries from managers and employees on a variety of topics such as time entry management, payroll, benefits and the firm’s human resources policies;
· Write internal HR communications, memos for maternity/paternity and parental leave, employment contracts, job confirmation letters and others; Projects Component
· Participate in the full cycle of annual employee performance appraisal;
· Participate in the renewal of the quality certificate of training initiatives;
· Participate in the various surveys;
· Prepare and maintain different Excel files (budget, various reports, tracking files, calendars and others).

Staffing Component
· Work in collaboration with the training department to coordinate the arrival of new employees;
· Hold induction and onboarding sessions for new employees.

Activities component
· Plan and coordinate various special events (employee appreciation week, vaccination campaign, Christmas gifts, health week, etc.);
· Perform any other related duties.

Qualifications and experience required:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent;
· 1 to 2 years of relevant experience (in HR) in a professional environment;
· Experience in a legal environment (an asset);
· Member of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés (CRHA) (an asset);
· Good knowledge of labour legislation;
· Mastery of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
· Experience with an HRIS (an asset);
· Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in both official languages (English and French);
· Increased organizational, time and priority management skills;
· Reliability, professionalism, autonomy, team spirit and discretion;
· Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously, with often tight deadlines.
