Compliance & Security Analyst


This is a Contract position in Montreal, QC posted October 18, 2021.

Founded in Quebec City in 2010, Petal is a dynamic and growing company made up of a team of over 200 enthusiasts who have developed innovative productivity tools for healthcare professionals. Secure messaging, online booking, schedule management, medical billing and hospital console: all on iOS, Android and our online application!

We will soon reach 50,000 users and have no intention of slowing down in our mission to simplify the daily lives of physicians, improve the efficiency of the health system and ultimately improve access to care.

What you can expect when joining the team

We are looking for a cybersecurity enthusiast to join our growing team! You will work closely with the legal, IT and DevSecOps teams on various projects involving cloud development environments, infrastructure and various monitoring and security tools. As a Security Analyst, you will also contribute to the influence and development of the cybersecurity culture within Petal.

Your daily life

During the day, you will be led to :

  • Participate in audits and compliance requirements (Soc2, GDPR, etc.);
  • Document and maintain security processes;
  • Analyze exception requests related to cybersecurity (software, right of access, web, etc.);
  • Help identify, assess, monitor and document IT and application risks;
  • Participate in the management of IT and application vulnerabilities;
  • Collaborate in the management of security tools;
  • Participate in the analysis of IT and application events (SIEM);
  • Improve security and reporting tools;
  • In collaboration with the DevSecOps team, perform supervised security tests on infrastructure and applications (Pentesting);
  • Monitor cybersecurity technology;
  • Participate in the development of the culture of cybersecurity through training and ongoing awareness.

Your profile

Are you an autonomous and curious person who thrives on the opportunity to learn and evolve? Do you manage pressure well and make thoughtful and responsible decisions? Do you like a challenge, keeping up to date, being informed and working in a rapidly changing environment? Are you looking for a friendly working atmosphere and to integrate yourself into a great team? The sky is the limit! If you have :

  • 5 years or more of experience in similar functions;
  • A level of comfort working in French and English as needed;
  • A marked interest in application security (OWASP, etc.);
  • A rigorous and analytical cybersecurity orientation, in particular for the assessment of risks and vulnerabilities;
  • Experience in the management and development of security, monitoring and reporting tools;
  • An ability to structure and maintain processes and documentation.
