Are you a proven leader and project manager?Lakeridge Health Foundation is seeking an experienced fundraiser to join our team as the Manager, Community Giving.

This driven professional will play a critical role in the strategic direction and implementation of community and corporate giving, which are essential to the Foundation’s relationship building and fundraising efforts.What you’ll be doing:The Manager, Community Giving is a dynamic position responsible for community outreach and fundraising.

Reporting to the Director, Development and Campaigns, and working closely with the Senior Development Officer, Events (a direct report), the Manager, Community Giving is accountable for the successful execution of events, lotteries, cause marketing, and other community initiatives.The Manager, Community Giving has a key leadership role as part of the Foundation’s Development team, and is an active community ambassador for Lakeridge Health Oshawa and Whitby Hospitals, including the R.S.

McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre.Summary of duties:Oversee Foundation’s community and corporate engagement functions including signature events (currently summer golf tournament and fall gala), third-party events, cause marketing, sponsorships, peer-to-peer fundraising, and lotteries.Manage, motivate, and collaborate with Senior Development Officer, Events to set and achieve goals and objectives.Seek out and build relationships with local businesses and corporations in order to secure sponsorships and expand Foundation’s networks.Develop and execute sponsorship strategies for signature events.Investigate and create new sponsorship opportunities for Foundation.Solicit major gifts or mid-level gifts from local businesses and corporations on a case-by-case basis.Work closely with Stewardship Officer to ensure all sponsors and donors are being properly stewarded.Research and pursue new strategies to expand community giving programs.Develop and execute annual operating plans (including corresponding budgets) and tactics for Foundation’s community and corporate giving programs.Analyze and report on results of each community giving program.Ensure appropriate annual and period goals are achieved personally and by direct report.Support and manage volunteers to leverage relationships and support for the Foundation.Work with the Manager, Prospect Insight and Research to identify opportunities for event sponsors, third-party events, cause marketing initiatives, and other community initiatives.Collaborate with Marketing and Communications colleagues to ensure community giving materials, promotion, and online outreach are relevant, timely, and high quality.Promote and support peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives, with emphasis on personal page fundraising.Work with Foundation’s Launchpad young professionals group to execute fundraising events.Collaborate with Stewardship Officer to ensure cheque presentation strategy for community initiatives is managed appropriately.Attend external events to represent the Foundation.

Give thank you speeches at third-party events on a case-by-case basis.Maintain accurate sponsor and donor records in Raiser’s Edge database, in accordance with the Foundation’s policies and procedures.What you bring to the position:A minimum of 10 years of experience in a professional fundraising organization.Post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience.Proven track record of planning, designing, and implementing successful fundraising strategies and programs including sponsorships, events, and cause marketing.Ability to recognize and build connections throughout Oshawa and Whitby to expand the Foundation’s networks.Experience managing and coaching direct reports.Experience working with and motivating volunteers.Solid knowledge of relational databases.

Experience with Raiser’s Edge is considered an asset.Proven project management success with ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.Superb relationship-building skills, with proven track record of building and advancing relationships in a fundraising environment.Direct experience soliciting donations and/or sponsorships, with proven track record of meeting targets.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.A passion for health care and motivated by seeing the meaningful work of the Hospitals at Lakeridge Health.
