Looking for Estimator in the field of architectural carpentry, full time, competitive salary

• Prepare cost estimates on production work
• Collaborate in the development of preliminary budgets during the design of projects
• Planning and start-up of submissive projects
• Review tender specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and estimate details.
• Perform preliminary and detailed quantity readings of plans and specifications.
• Carry out an in-depth study of the plans and specifications submitted by the clients
• Correctly interpret the technical specifications of the tender documents
• Be the liaison with subcontractors for calls for tenders and follow ups
• Estimate the costs of materials, labor, rental, etc. according to plans and specifications
  
• Collaborates in the continuous improvement of methods and processes for handling files, work in progress
• Ensure the continuous updating of the general contractors and specialized contractors intended for the execution of the work.
• Maintain collaborative links with construction project managers, subcontractors and professionals
• Maintain a professional and trusting relationship with customers, professionals, subcontractors and suppliers

• Certificate or diploma of specialized higher education, Architecture, urban planning and design  Interior Design
• Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) Physical Techniques-Architecture
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating, ideally within general contractors
• Good knowledge of building materials
• Very good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
• Proven ability to reconcile multiple priorities – excellent organizational and planning skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Several years of experience as a skilled worker in one of the construction trades (5) are required.
• Certification issued by the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors is usually required.
