Electronic Engineer (fpga) – Development Of Medical Devices

_______________________________________________________________________ OBJECTIVES OF THE ELECTRONIC ENGINEER POSITION: SONOSCOPE is looking for a digital electronic engineer who will play a key-role in the success of the company.

He / she will design the ultrasound beam forming FPGA software and be involved for the selection of material and embedded software components of a medical device developed by the company.

The incumbent will assume the following functions under the supervision of the Chief Engineer: RESPONSIBILITIES: Product development and hardware design
● Participate in the development of medical devices and design reviews.

● Review the design of electronic printed circuits boards (PCB).

● Design and program digital (FPGA) circuits.

● Perform performance analysis of different image processing approaches (FPGAs and GPUs)
● Define user requirements and engineering specifications referred to applicable regulatory standards .

Protocols and testing
● Design digital circuits and perform electromagnetic compatibility (EMC/EMI) tests
● Perform signal integrity analysis and tests
● Design, write and perform methods for product testing in coordination with the quality assurance team and clinicians.

● Write and execute quality assurance protocols for design validation and verification, namely unit, integration and regressive tests.

Quality Management
● Prepare documentation for quality assurance, more specifically for design validation and verification of electronic/electric components and products.

● Prepare documentation to support design history files and regulatory submissions of Sonoscope medical devices.

Other responsibilities
● Participate in product and process risk assessments.

● Support SONOSCOPE’S intellectual property.

● Collaborate with different subcontractors and partners.

● Perform additional tasks as assigned by Chief Engineer and/or Chief Technology Officer.

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements: REQUIREMENTS:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Electric or Electronic Engineering
● 8 to 10 years of experience in FPGA design, preferably related to medical devices and/or ultrasound
● Proven track records in electronic circuit design in a real-time image processing environment.

● Experience with highly regulated environments (ISO 13485, IEC 60601-1 et 60601-1-2, ISO 14971, ISO 14155 , 21 CFR Part 820, etc.)
● Experience in programming embedded systems (DSP, FPGA, GPU / CUDA)
● Knowledge of hardware architectures such as INTEL, XILINX, NXP, NVIDIA, AMD, etc.

● Knowledge of protocols (including JTAG, I2C, SPI)
● Knowledge of software architectures and operating systems such as UNIX, LINUX / Debian, BSD, FreeBSD
● Knowledge of OpenGL language, Visual C is an advantage
● Knowledge of SVN, Git, GitHub, Bitbucket version management tools
● Experience in deploying integration tests (Bamboo / Jenkins)
● Experience with AGILE / SCRUM methods
● Excellent verbal and written English ASSETS:
● Experience in ultrasound systems
● Knowledge of digital signal processing methods and analog circuit design for signal conditioning.

● Experience in the electrical / electronic design of medical devices for the American and European markets.

● Previous participation in a clinical study process
