Merchant Support Specialist


This is a Full-time position in Montreal, QC posted August 12, 2019.

We are currently looking for confident, energetic, outgoing and tech-savvy candidates to join our merchant support team, which is constantly adapting to new developments in the payment industry.

Our merchant support team is responsible for all incoming calls from our small and medium-sized Canadian and US merchants.

Daily duties range from billing/statement questions and addressing any customer service needs of our clients, to high level technical support of point-of-sale systems, including identifying and resolving all support requirements of our merchants.

Our Merchant Support Specialist contribute to ensuring that Nuvei’s merchants maintain their productivity and service performance standards.

Main Duties / Responsibilities Answer inbound customer service and technical support calls from our merchants.

Ensure timely and effective resolution of merchant requests.

Manage difficult interactions in a professional manner, and always foster merchant loyalty.

Resolve claims and questions related to merchant statements.

Identify trends and report them to promote continual process improvement.

Perform any other related tasks that are deemed essential to the success of the company and the satisfaction of our merchants.

Qualifications (Skills/Experience) Demonstrates strong tact, discretion, and ethics
– is a team player.

Able to “think outside the box”, and to be creative in introducing new ideas.

Able to perform under pressure in a dynamic team environment.

Takes initiative and responsibility for the quality of their work.

Possesses outstanding customer service skills.

Excellent communications skills (written and spoken) in French, English (and Spanish, a plus).

Advanced computer, typing, and MS Office suite skills.

Working Language English (written and spoken) is the language used 99% of the time, as work colleagues and clientele are both geographically dispersed within and outside of Quebec.

Internal communications between colleagues occur in English or in French, depending on the parties involved.

Strategic suppliers are located outside of Quebec.

A basic knowledge of French is required for any position located within Quebec.

English is required for this position, as it could report to someone outside of Quebec, and requires frequent out of province communications.
