Customer Service Agent

This is a Full-time position in Montréal, QC posted February 8, 2018.

Our client is a fast-growing, Montreal based, international freight forwarder.  We are currently looking to add an intrapreneurial candidate having relevant experience in ocean import.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the customer service agent – ocean import is responsible for understanding ocean line requirements, warehousing, trucking rate negotiation and dispatching freight.

Duties and responsibilities:

*Responsible for coordinating all aspects of ocean import shipments including: preparing documentation, data entry, tracing, billing, and arranging deliveries.
*Keeping customers informed with booking confirmations and pre-alerts.
*Maintain close communication with overseas agents on shipment status/track and trace.
*Arrange collection and transportation of goods with overseas agents.
*Communicating shipment updates and deliveries to clients.
*To assist and develop consolidation programs.
*Issuance of manifest, delivery request and release.
*Preparing profit share calculations and negotiate rates with carriers and related vendors.
*Ensuring billing and collections are done in a timely and systemic manner.
*Other administrative functions for the department.

This position requires:

*A minimum 3 to 5 years of related experience;
*Air and Ocean Dangerous Goods Certification;
*CIFFA International Freight Forwarding course(s);
*Knowledge of e-manifest process preferred;
*Bilingual would be an asset.
