ANALYST, OPERATIONS SUPPORT – Across Canada – 12 month temporary assignment

POSITION OVERVIEW The Analyst, Operations support, Growth & Transition Capital, prepares financial information analyses and reports, as well as focuses on improving business processes & procedures.

The incumbent is also responsible for proposing solutions for improving operational processes, tools, analytical models, databases, etc.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET Participate in special improvement projects or provide support as needed.

Prepare detailed analyses and monthly/quarterly reports on GTC acceptances and the portfolio—including statistics, graphs and tables—for senior management and the Board of Directors by retrieving data and ensuring its integrity, coordinating information and formatting reports.

Actively participate in developing new tools and systems by analyzing, compiling and testing data, and by helping coordinate and analyze any pilot testing initiatives.

Participate in ad hoc research projects; retrieve and aggregate data to facilitate analysis by management.

Respond to analysis and reporting requests from Head Office (Operations, Audit, and Credit) and the field, and coach/assist users in interpreting and understanding the data.

Prepare information required by internal/external auditors.

Maintain and improve CLICs dashboards and reports.

Publish reports on the department’s intranet site and keep the site up to date.

Prepare and validate all financial information presented in the dashboards.

Help prepare comprehensive, value-added monthly analyses based on models, productivity levels and other criteria.

Participate in developing the corporate plan and detailed annual budget.

Analyze and explain budget and portfolio risk management (PRM) variances on a monthly basis.

Perform Adhoc tasks such as translations and communications WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a relevant field A minimum of 3 years years’ experience in accounting, financial analysis and/or business operations Experience in the financial services industry, an asset Good financial and analytical skills Sound knowledge of Excel Ability to work under significant pressure and meet prescribed deadlines Ability to manage ambiguous situations and quickly understand new concepts Ability to establish relationships with internal clients Ability to work on many projects at a time and follow-through Excellent oral and written communication skills Bilingualism EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER At BDC, we value diversity in our workforce and encourage all qualified candidates to apply.
