SUMMARYThe Construction Manager will manage the interface between the General Contractor and the ECV Project Team for the upcoming Carbon Recycling facility.

Having the owner’s construction team under his responsibility, the ECV Construction Manager will be responsible to oversee the construction effort.The Construction Manager supports the Project Director by monitoring the overall site HSSE and Quality Performance, cost, budget & scope progress and support the production of the weekly/monthly report.Key responsibilities include: The Construction Manager is responsible of all construction planning, budget, schedule, quality and resource allocation.

Responsible for ensuring the right HSSE Barriers are in place, the HSSE Plans are finalized and approved prior to mobilization, and the contractors are adhering to the plans and procedures put in place.

Ensures that all contractors are aligned with a standardized set of guidelines and work processes that are common for the project and maximize efficiency as well as HSE Performance.

Works directly with the GC for the development of the detailed Construction Execution Planning and confirms the Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) in place.

Provides guidance for the proper contractual approach of every construction scope of work.

Manage contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with contractors, suppliers and subcontractors.

Responsible for ensuring technical problems encountered during the construction of the project are resolved in a timely manner and provides ongoing constructability input to the design group during the Detailed Design phase.

Ensures Construction Quality Plans are put in place that meet the overall Project Quality Management System, and the contractors are adhering to the plans and procedures.

Responsible to apply the Change Management process and approve the Construction Change Notice (CCN).Qualifications and Skills Degree in engineering or Construction Management, or minimum of 10 years in a Responsible in Charge (RIC) Construction Management role.

Demonstrate the ability to influence and coach others primarily in HSE, and the ability to deliver messages in front of large crowds Complete familiarity with international codes and standards for the oil & gas industry Broad experience in refining, petrochemical and/or biofuels plants, project engineering / maintenance / construction / commissioning and in project management Demonstrate a broad technical, a sound commercial and complete project management competence A person who must be able to lead a team of various background and expertise Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization and third parties Must be a team worker, conscientious, diligent, approachable, independent Must have skills of finding solutions to problems, a sense of priorities and maturity in judgement Must be highly self-motivated and be prepared to spend long working hours / weeks on the construction site Experience in delivering projects where accountability was $50M CAD Previous engineering experience across all project phases of refinery or chemicals-based projects involving EPC/EPCM contractors is preferred A mindset and capability to look over his / her own boundaries and have an eye for the identification of potential opportunities/issues / unknowns An ability to anticipate potential, or emerging, problems/risks and mitigate before they happen Demonstrated project delivery competences in the following areas: o Building project teams and interface management in a construction environment o Leadership competences aligned with special focus on delivery of results through others and delivering in a team environment o Ability to develop a shared vision for delivering technical and quality assurance on a large project o Demonstrated engineering & technical leadership o Ability to resolve conflicts o Contract management o Ability to identify and implement change / improvements o Project execution plan – development / execution o AWP setup and management o Managing schedule and resource plans o Managing construction risks o HSSE risk management o Project handover o Refining process technology o Utilities, power systems
