Take your ambitions to the next level

You will be responsible for overseeing the application of accounting standards, including purchase accounting, as well as for the management of external reporting process. You will also contribute to special projects and report to the VP of Finance as well as liaise with other teams and with the Finance staff.

External Reporting

  • Manage and contribute to the preparation of quarterly consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS;
  • Manage the quarterly and annual SEC filings (Forms 6-K and 20-F) including reviewing the XBRL filings and the Ontario Securities Commission filings;
  • Prepare quarterly Management Discussion and Analysis;
  • Manage the quarterly and annual consolidated financial review process to ensure financial information is accurate, timely, relevant and in accordance with SOX requirements;
  • Collaborate in the preparation process of financial information for the audit committee, board presentations and earnings release;
  • Lead quarterly and annual reviews as well as audits with our external auditors;
  • Prepare financial analyses as required;
  • Supervise a small staff.

Technical Accounting Analysis

  • Responsible for all purchase accounting, related disclosure and position memorandums, including coordination with various other teams;
  • Analyze technical accounting issues, including agreements and/or contracts as well as prepare accounting positions memorandums;
  • Analyze and identify the impact of changes to accounting standards on Alithya’s financial statements and accounting processes.

Integration and Special Projects

  • Participate in new subsidiaries integration including the following:
    • Compliance with IFRS;
    • Assessment of accounting policies and alignment with Alithya’s policies;
    • Compliance with Alithya’s procedures and controls including SOX requirements;
    • Operational accounting integration within multidisciplinary teams (e.g., Taxation, Legal, Treasury).
  • Prepare analysis and assessments as required from the merger and acquisition team;
  • Identify, document and implement internal accounting standards and procedures;
  • Lead and/or participate in finance projects.

Does this sound like you?

  • CPA, CA designation with at least 5 years of public accounting experience or equivalent industry experience in accounting;

  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS;

  • Proficient in purchase accounting and the application of accounting principles;

  • Demonstrated ability in dealing with complex transactions;

  • Ability to clearly communicate assessment of issues, facts and supportive conclusions in writing;

  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrates commitment to teamwork and partnerships;

  • Resourceful, autonomous, with exceptional attention to detail, takes initiative, committed and excellent analytical skills;

  • Ability to manage priorities whilst respecting deadlines;

  • Fantastic teamwork and communication skills;

  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office tools;

  • Ability to optimize use of Information Technology and best business practices;

  • Ability to work in project mode;

  • Bilingualism (French and English) both oral and written. Exceptional English written skills required. Level expected:
    • French: 3/4 
    • English: 4/4
