Salary(Grade:10) Hiring salary range $70347-$88,861 Position Purpose Serves as a first point of contact for students on all matters related to equity and wellness.

Organizes the delivery of initiatives addressing accessibility to a legal education.

The incumbent will liaise with available resources within the University, Faculty, and legal community in order to make resources readily available to support law students during their studies.

Essential Qualifications Graduate Degree in social work, psychology, counselling or other relevant disciplines or equivalent experience acquired through the course of employment; Significant experience in counselling and in the provision of access and equity services and of training/education on equity issues is required; this experience in a University environment would be preferred Experience in dealing with access issues related to equity seeking groups and familiarity with equity related issues and concernsExperience interpreting, communicating and applying procedures, policies and methodsAbility to work in an emotionally challenging work environment on a daily basisExperience incoordination, in public speaking and presentations and in administrative writingExcellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills Demonstrated success in working independently and as team player to achieve work related goalsDemonstrated organizational and time management skills, ability to multitask, to work under pressure and to meet firm deadlinesProven ability to solve problems and envision sound judgment and creative solutions; Bilingualism (spoken and written) Key Competencies Key competencies required at the University of Ottawa:Planning: Organize in time a series of actions or events in order to achieve an objective or a project.
