Senior Financial Analyst

Livingston International

This is a Contract position in Montreal, QC posted July 10, 2021.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing multiple financial analysis projects at the same time.

At month end, you will be responsible for budget, projection, and actual variance commentary.

Responsibilities Prepares account reconciliations and analysis of assigned balance sheet accounts and reviews any balance sheet accounts prepared by staff prior to submitting to manager for review and approval Works closely with Director and Manager on improving departmental processes to gain efficiencies, makes recommendations on improving established policies and procedures, prepares documentation and implements changes Manages monitoring and follow up of intercompany freight billings and unbilled immediate payments including WIP accounts with operations Assists with research of complex payment issues in our payable and operating systems.

Prepares journal entries and other analyses for month / quarter and year in close in the area assigned.

Investigation and resolves or escalates issues relating to financial data quality, unusual transactions, outstanding items and reconciliations to manager or freight and brokerage team(s) when necessary Participates and / or may lead projects, if required Trains, mentors and coaches’ staff (if applicable) on the following but not limited to account reconciliations and analysis, financial systems and policies and procedures Prepares reports for Manager/Director and or Finance team when requested Liaise with internal and external auditors.

Respond to inquiries, information and reports as requested Identifies process gaps and recommends remediation / training where required to Manager Performs other related duties as assigned by management Qualifications Accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) Minimum years (5 years) in corporate finance, systems or report writing Solid knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS Ability to think critically and recommend ideas for improvement of existing policies and practices Proficiency in Access / Data base creation / management Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to implement solutions Ability to prioritize and effectively manage varying deadlines Excellent communications (oral and written) skills Excellent interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail In-depth knowledge of preparing and analyzing account reconciliations In-depth knowledge of accounting systems Ability to coach, mentor and guide team members Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, work on various deliverables simultaneously and prioritize Ability to work independently but as a part of a team
