Senior Analyst, Risk Analytics

This is a Contract position in Montréal, QC posted September 29, 2018.

Millesime is currently looking for a Senior Analyst, Risk Analytics for the equipment finance division of a bank who provides commercial/corporate leasing and financing products to small, middle-market and large corporate companies with equipment needs and provides term loans, equipment leases, vendor finance programs and manufacturer finance programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Leverage extensive expertise in data management and business intelligence to develop ‘best in class’ strategic vision for risk processes;
  • Contribute and support the Business on data flow and system functionalities to drive process excellence and deliver value added solutions;
  • Improve risk processes by establishing robust touchless capabilities;
  • Prioritize business needs and translate high-level business requirements into functional specifications;
  • Develop forward looking metrics to monitor portfolio trends, assess Business risk appetite, define and refine strike zones and support credit approval decisions;
  • Drive simplicity and consistency across the company and the Vendor Financial Services Canadian businesses for ongoing monitoring of key metrics;
  • Develop a thorough understanding of portfolios, key risk concepts and risk reporting processes, in order to provide meaningful analysis;
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key functional stakeholders (Risk, Operation, Sales, IT).

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Minimum qualifications:

  • 7 + years of reporting experience, analytics experience, or a combination of both;
  • Strong business finance acumen;
  • Experience in data analysis, underwriting or risk roles;
  • Strong data analytical skills, with an emphasis on detailed data mining;
  • Excellent judgment and synthesis ability when exploring data;
  • Ability to understand, manage and navigate large data sets;
  • Mastering Microsoft Excel functionalities;
  • Ability to collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams;
  • Ability to interpret and present complex analytical results;
  • Flexible and responsive with ability to adapt to rapid change in direction or business priorities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Risk-related field (Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics), in Computer Science or Engineering;
  • SQL and SAS programming ;
  • Qlikview experience;
  • Experience in financial services industry;
  • Bilingual (English and French).
