We are currently looking for a Payroll/Accounting clerk to join our client’s team.

Our client is a privately-owned family business that has been proudly servicing their clients since 1939.

Tasks: Collect and calculate time-cards Prepare data entry for verification Process weekly payroll for union and non-union employees Process union remittances, due on the 10th of the following month and updating spreadsheets Transfer appropriate funds to payroll bank account Ensure accurate and timely electronic file transfers with financial institution Maintain all employee payroll files, special deduction files, and computer system Prepare Quarterly Payments for Management Prepare Payroll Bank Reconciliations Prepare Vacation Pay for employees Prepare Journal Entries for Payroll Distribute all information (pay stubs, ROE’s, etc.) Prepare and balance T4’s and Releve 1’s (All Companies) Maintain Training and Payroll schedules Respond to all inquiries in a timely fashion Complete, submit, and follow up on Executive Group Insurance Claims Preparation and Maintenance of Group Insurance Forms Maintain & Update Provincial & Federal Taxable Benefits / Taxable Benefit spreadsheet Maintain & Update Employee Profiles Verify, reconcile, and prepare monthly group insurance payment Respond to employee inquiries in a timely and courteous fashion Respond to Auditors inquiries and preparation of files pertaining to payroll for all Y/E Audits Back up and/or assist A/P–Accounting Clerk Perform other administrative tasks related to the smooth running of office operations Requirements: DEP in Accounting, or Payroll Certification (CPA) Knowledge of Windows environment and Microsoft Office Suite, Empulse Minimum 3 years as Payroll clerk/Accounting Clerk Personal qualities and skills: attention to detail, team player, courteous, initiative, stress tolerance, reliable and punctual Don’t miss this opportunity, apply now !
