The Manager, Accounting prepares and reviews timely and accurate financial information related to Brother International Corporation (BIC), Brother Mobile Solutions (BMS), and/or Brother Industries USA Ltd (BIUS), including, preparation and/or review of journal entries; preparation and/or review of monthly fluctuation analysis; communications with divisions to gather necessary explanations for all material variances and support for accruals; identification and calculation of month-end accruals; preparation and/or review of balance sheet account reconciliations.

This role participates in internal, external, and JSOX audits.

This position is also responsible for the preparation of the forecast and budget for the assigned areas.

Accounting Process Partner with assigned business units to achieving financial objectives through forecasting requirements, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions Obtain a thorough understanding of each division’s business issues, budget and forecasted data and actual results of operations by working closely with division management Maintain the organization’s general ledger, tracking assets, liabilities, expenses, and revenues for assigned business units Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close for assigned business units Prepare and review monthly forecast and annual budget for assigned business areas Oversee the accurate, timely, and complete processing of all accounting transactions and coding to General Ledger Prepare, review and analyze general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals Perform reconciliation of accounts to the general ledger and other accounts as assigned; ensure account reconciliations are performed monthly, and reconciling items are resolved on a timely basis Monitor, maintain, and enhance internal accounting controls in relation to assigned Business units.

Implement productivity, quality, and customer-service standards Confirm financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; and preparing special reports for assigned business groups Maintain accounting controls defining and updating accounting policies and procedures Resolve system Hyperion issues (as the first point of contact for Business units) Auditing Assist with internal, external, and SOX audits, by working with the audit teams and periodic auditing of the organization’s financial records and statements.

Provide audit team with analyses as needed Requirements Education
– Bachelor’s Degree Accounting or Finance (Required) Experience (Minimum 8 years Required) -Experience in public accounting -Experience in a corporate setting with multiple entities/divisions, providing accounting services for different business units -Experience, budgeting, planning, forecasting, and management reporting experience required (Minimum 4 years Preferred) -Experience working with SAP Accounting Modules -Experience working with Hyperion and SAP in the creation of analytical financial reporting Licenses and Certifications CPA
