As we strive to be at the forefront of a complex and vastly changing retail industry, it is an exciting time to join the Canadian Tire family of companies.The Maintenance Inventory Controller is responsible to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Maintenance Stores Department, providing parts and materials for the maintenance, repair & overhaul of building and operational equipment while optimizing Stores levels to improve efficiency and reduce costs.What You’ll Do Identify/prioritize stores items by usage/cost and manage inventory levels to minimize cost without affecting equipment repair/uptime Set-up and optimize effective cycle counts Work with vendors to identify non-OEM parts to stock and reduce inventory costs Set up stock rotation systems to improve FIFO capabilities where required Work with vendors to minimize inventory/processing through consignment parts, vendor-managed inventories and blanket purchase orders Work with Maintenance to plan and prepare material requirements for maintenance, repair & overhaul (MRO) work Optimize utilize space in Stores to facilitate efficient stock handling/issuing Use historical data to identify and eliminate obsolete parts Adjust stores levels effectively for new equipment, including assisting in the set-up of equipment bill of materials Manage all parts/equipment sent outside site for repair, including cost/scope/delivery Ensure all Stores-related activity is logged accurately in Maintenance inventory system (MAXIMO) Initiate purchase orders for stores replenishment, and accurately receive/log same in MAXIMO Use mobile equipment to load/unload vendor vehicles as required Receive and distribute warehouse consumables (gloves, knives, etc.) to various departments What You Bring Experience working in a Maintenance stores operation Formal training in Inventory Management; APICS or other Post Secondary degree or diploma in Business, Commerce or Engineering MAXIMO experience or computerized maintenance management (CMMS) experience Certification in forklift driving; Eligible for forklift certification if not already qualified Proven track record of improving work area(s) of responsibility Ability to drive change through influencing others that do not directly report into position Demonstrated experience in: Working with/optimizing of inventory control systems including managing inventory, receiving and back order control Success in 5s in warehousing or inventory role Computer skills (excel and inventory management software) Able to lift/move items up to 50 lb in weight Ability to work on multiple tasks and priorities About Canadian Tire CorporationCanadian Tire and its family of companies are boldly shaping retail in Canada and we continue to deliver a positive experience for our customers.
